Your First Sugaring Appointment in Halifax
Trying sugaring for the first time can feel a little intimidating, especially for more personal services. Valerie keeps the experience private, professional and judgment-free and will explain the process so you know what to expect.
Before You Arrive
A little preparation before your appointment helps Valerie get the best results from your sugaring service.
Hair Length
Hair must be at least ¼" long (about 14 days of growth from shaving).
Clean, Product-Free Skin
No lotions, oils, deodorant, or makeup on the area to be sugared.
Exfoliation
Please do not exfoliate the day before or the day of your appointment.
What to Wear
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing to your appointment.
What Happens at Your Appointment?
Before getting started, Valerie will confirm the service you booked and give you an opportunity to ask any questions. You'll only need to expose the area being treated, and your privacy is maintained throughout the appointment.
Sugar paste is applied by hand and used to remove the hair in small sections. If this is your first sugaring appointment, Valerie will let you know what is happening as the service progresses.
There’s No Need to Feel Awkward
Bodies come in every shape, size and stage of grooming. You do not need to apologize for your body, your hair growth or how long it has been since your last hair-removal appointment. Naturally Sweet is a professional, respectful and judgment-free space.
Does Sugaring Hurt?
Sugaring removes hair from the root, so some discomfort is normal, particularly during a first appointment or in more sensitive areas. The sensation varies from person to person, and many clients find regular maintenance appointments easier to manage.
After Your Appointment
Give the freshly sugared skin some time to settle and follow these aftercare guidelines.
First 24 Hours
Avoid excessive sweating, hot tubs, saunas, pools, sun exposure, and tight clothing for 24 hours.
Bikini & Brazilian Services
Skip sexual activity for 24 hours for bikini/Brazilian services.
Moisturizing
Wait 24 hours before moisturizing, then use a scent-free, gentle lotion such as aloe, shea butter, or oat-based.
Between Appointments
Avoid shaving between appointments to support longer-lasting results and reduce irritation.
